Carolyn W. White

Carolyn W. White declares herself to be a product of the Arena Players of Baltimore, Inc. She has performed in many theatrical productions at the Arena Playhouse and throughout Maryland and New York. Some of her favorites are Bourbon at the Border - an Arena Players Production, Anna in The Tropics. performed at the Fells Point Corner Theater, and On Borrowed Time at the Vagabond Theater to name a few. She has also appeared on TV and Movie productions of Sex in the City, Ladder 49, and Pantha X just to capture a few.
Carolyn takes pride in having served recently as Co-Director with D. Russell Owens as Director, of "One Mo' Time" at the Arena Playhouse. She was Director, along with her husband, Alvin, as Cc-Director, of the classic play A Raisin in the Sun. Carolyn is also an instructor with Studio 801, the adult acting program at
the Arena Playhouse. Carolyn would like to thank God and her loving family and friends for their love and support.


Terry Johnson-Bey

Terry is a native Baltimorean who has worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 27 years. She Loves the art of acting,and last performed in  A Country Preacher at The Reginald F. Lewis Museum. She thanks the directors and cast for allowing her to grow in the arts. She thanks her friends,coworkers,and You for your support. She sends a special thank you to her family because they are a constant in her life:Mommy,Pop,Lena(Sister-in-law),Bucky(Brother),Jah'mai(Son),and Jeriel(Son). To Allah be the glory!

 Antoinette Perkins

Antionette Perkins is a Baltimore Native and mother of four, educator in the D.C. Public School System, former Social Studeies Chair for Baltimore City Public Schools, an Interpreter Ranger and Living Historian  at Fort McHenry. I would like to thank athe cast members.

Alvin White

Alvin White has performed in Amahl and the Night Visitor and during his Junior year in high school wrote and directed
"Time Out For My People" a satirical comedy on the life of a young black family and their deliverance from the woes of
the world because of their faith in God. He awaits the performance of his most recent script entitled, "Touched" proclaiming to all youth that their differences are in fact the uniqueness that makes them worthwhile. He loves watching his wife as she portraits characters with a commanding performance each time. Recently, he Co-Directed along with his wife, Carolyn, as Director, the classic play" A Raisin in The Sun". He is thankful for the opportunity to perform in this production. To the Director and phenomenal playwright of "Belly of A Woman, and Actress, Margaret Locklear, he salutes her creativity, her exactness of facts portrayed, and for her courage to relay the message. He is grateful for the love and support from his family and friends and he humbly thanks God for "Life".


Erica Gardner

Erica Gardner has worked @ the Baltimore Teacher Union since 2006. Here previous stage appearances include To Sir with Love, Bad Girls, and Don't Tell Soul which were featured @ the Tower Showcase Theatre. Erica would like to thank her friend's family and colleagues who placed Ads or bought tickets on her be-half, and most of all thank you God for allowing me to be a part of this production


Scott Pendleton

Scott Pendleton has done Gilbert & Sullivan with the Comic Opera Company and Shakespear at the Arena Theater. His movie credits include Pink Flamingos, Desperate Living, and The Replacements. He also appeared in Season 4 of The Wire. He is humbled to be working with such talented actors, writers, and director in The Belly of a Woman. Scott dedicates his performance to the late Gil Scott Heron.

Dujuann Ray

Dujuan Ray is an African Drummer and Instructor. He plays the Djembe Drum and founded the Yalla Maina African Arts ensemble. He has performed for 20 years in many shows, plays productions and events. Mr.Ray has been with this production since the beginning.

Tia Edge

Born in Yankee territory at the tail end of the Civil Rights Movement. Still I try to bring peace daily.  Not an actress however, I am willing to learn the craft. Mother of two wonderful children who keep me sound. They are my alpha and my omega. 

Lauren Blackwell

Lauren Blackwell is pleased to perform in the 7th production of Belly Of A Woman.  Her recent credits include For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf  at Morgan State University (Lady in Red), The XX Chromosome Genome Project at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center (White Chocolate), The Waiting Room at Vagabond Players (Hannah Blake), An Ounce of Blues at Mobtown Theater (Regina), A Raisin In the Sun (Beneatha Younger), and The Vagina Monologues (Make Vaginas Happy).   Big thanks to Margaret for sharing HER story and having a vision.  Love you Fam!

Nancy Linden

Recently Nancy has performed locally in The Cocktail Party, She Stoops to Conquer, The Laramie Project, The Mai and  The Miser.  In previous years she worked with an acting company in San Francisco, as a fashion illustration model in New York where she studied at HB Studio, and as master electrician and set and lighting designer at Meadow Brook Theater in Michigan.  She subsequently sailed to Europe and the Caribbean with her husband and two cats.  She is presently second mate on a square-rigged ship and making art in Baltimore .

Richard Peck

Richard has been a member of the Belly ensemble since its premiere at BCCC in the spring of 2006. He is very excited that this show is back in a new, improved edition with a wonderful cast and crew.  He believes both those who have been in the audience at previous performances and first-timers will find things that expand and deepen the ways they perceive this world. Richard has been acting in Baltimore for the last dozen years or so. He recently appeared as Willy Loman’s brother, Ben, in Death of a Salesman at Vagabond Players. He sends all his love to Margaret.


Tamara Franklin

Tamara Franklin is a singer and songwriter born and raised in Baltimore, Md. She currently works as a teacher with the Baltimore City Head Start program. This is her first stage play as an adult but hopes to continue to pursue a career in acting.

Debra Bonds

Debra Bonds is a proud to be a part of "The Belly of A Woman." A native of Baltimore, Deborah has taught Engllish and Theater for 26 years in the Baltimore Area. Favorites roles include M'gyn in "Steel Magnolias, " the mother in "The Trenches," and severalroles in the Mid-Atlnatice Premier of "Parade." She is active in many facet of the theater in Baltimore.

Vickie Clay

Victoria Clay making her debut on this stage as one of the narrator.  She has never performed in any production and has really enjoyed the experience of her creative to come light.
